Belvoir offers the young artist an opportunity for
total immersion in studio work. Drawing, painting, printmaking,
sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, photography, video, and fashion are
all offered in small classes organized by age and skill. Fifteen
professional staff teach the girls in fully equipped studios. Students
enjoy working with charcoal, oil paints, canvas, silver, welding
materials, clay, stone, and more.
Art majors usually elect four or more art classes or do intensive
work in one or more areas. In addition to class time, art majors
have the opportunity to participate in life drawing classes, open
studio hours, gallery trips, art exhibitions, and talks with professional
guest artists.
The professional artist teachers, teaching classes of six to eight
motivated young women, make Belvoir's art program outstanding.
Whether the camper is developing her portfolio for art school or
exploring a new interest, the Belvoir art program works for her.
